So much for consistency. If I went to the bathroom with the frequency that I blogged, I would definitely need more roughage in my diet. The last time I blogged was one month minus one day before I became a father. Two pieces of advice that I was given from Lindsay's uncles were that sleep as I knew it was over, and doing things with my friends as I knew would be over as well. Pretty much dead on. I don't get out much, and Lindsay especially doesn't, but these are thing you have got to come to understand.
This blog here will serve to setup a series of blog that I hope to complete with a greater regularity, so please take the time to see how the night’s activities have inspired my next few blogs.
Now I'm fairly certain that in most of my blogs from here on out, there will be plenty of references to fatherhood, as a result of learning to be a father as I go along. So because of this, I do not see a need to inundate this entry with the nuances of parenting that I have encountered up to now, such as leering to covering the boy's newborn genitals as soon as possible when changing a diaper, so as not to be covered in urine every time that thing gets exposed to air. What I will do, is lay out the theme to my hopefully forthcoming blogs.
Tonight Lindsay and I had company in the form of Lauren and Keri. For the most part I played with the boy and his little floor mat toy with things that hang over him for him to look at, played spider solitaire, and engaged in casual conversation. A rather large chunk of time was spent reminiscing of high school, in general telling stories to Keri to better help her understand the amount of shit that Johnston is filled with. So, to fill Keri in on who some of the characters from the stories were, myspace was enlisted as a character reference for a few people. Soon we were viewing friends of friends, fueling even more discussions of other people. Those who know me could probably see where such activities could easily go from innocent to over the top pretty quickly, and I won't deny that I am at times harsh, but hey, I haven't been treated as well as I would have liked at all times, so treat others as they have treated you. Yeah I know how the saying goes, but let me twist away. So inspired was I, by traveling through the past, that I will now give you the series entitled Lessons I've Learned; a series of ideas and knowledge that I will teach my child, in the spirit of helping him know about the bullshit that is Johnston, Rhode Island, the country and the world in general. This is like the flume as it reaches its apex drop. This is your last chance to enjoy the ride (avert your eyes, close your ears and run) or else you're in it for the big drop. Enjoy....
